West Midlands Police arrested two men in Coventry last night following a police pursuit.
The pursuit started 35 miles away in Wolverhampton when a police car was rammed following attempts to pull the vehicle over.
The car made off but was picked up by a police helicopter heading into Coventry around 20 minutes later.
Two men were later found hiding in a block of flats by response officers who were guided in by the police helicopter.
Men aged 29 and 23 − both from Coventry − were arrested on suspicion of car theft, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
Police say “The car was running on cloned plates but enquiries revealed it had been stolen in Coventry on 24 September.”
Both men remain in police custody this morning for questioning. The police car was damaged during the collision but no officers were injured.
