The newly elected speaker of the Houses of Commons, Lindsay Hoyle has announced further systems to improve transparency within parliament.
Speaker Hoyle told MP’s at the end of Wednesday’s session that he and commons clerks would begin publishing advice given to them in instances where motions are made that diverge from existing precedent.
Conservative MP’s cheered at this announcement as the new speaker sets to limit the powers of the speakers office.
Speaker Hoyle replaces the former speaker of the Houses of Commons John Bercow who was seen by many as a controversial speaker.
Last year, Mr Bercow was accused of changing parliamentary rules unilaterally following a government Brexit defeat.
